Visa Section Information
The Visa section is open every day Monday to Friday from 9 am. to 12 am.
Processing time for individual visa applications:
Regular visa fees for Hong Kong SAR and Macao SAR passport holders:
- Single entry Tourist visa – 400 HKD
- Double entry Tourist visa – 800 HKD
- Single entry Business visa – 400 HKD
- Double entry Business visa – 800 HKD
- Multiple entry Business visa – 1200 HKD
- Single entry Transit visa – 400 HKD
- Double entry Transit visa – 800 HKD
Visa fees for citizens of other countries
IMPORTANT NOTICE for the applicants:
- Please, make sure you fully completed and signed the Visa Application Form before submitting the documents.
- Applicant’s passport will be kept in the Consulate during the whole visa processing time.
- The applicant has to pay all visa fees at once when submitting visa application.
- Visa Section is authorized to request any supplementary documents and information in regard of the application.
- The applicant should apply for visa personally or authorize a messenger by a letter.
- For families or tourist groups traveling together a complete set of documents should be provided by each person.
- Visa Section of the Russian Consulate in Hong Kong is not authorized to transfer Multiple business visas issued by other agencies to the new passports.
- In case of Business visa denial the Consulate does not return original invitation letters to the applicants.
- When visiting Russia Multiple visa holders are limited to 90 days for each stay.
ATTENTION: The applicants are kindly asked to make copies of visa support documents (tourist voucher, business invitation letter or work permit) and be ready to present them to border immigration officers if required.

Business Visa Application Requirements
- passport (valid for at least 6 months beyond the intended period of stay in Russia for single or double entry business visas; valid for at least 18 months beyond the intended period of stay in Russia for multiple entry business visas)
- a copy of the main page of the passport
- standard invitation letter issued by the Russian government (Ministry of Foreign Affairs OR Ministry of Interior); only originals are accepted
- completed and signed by an applicant visa application form (can be downloaded from our website)
- 1 recent passport size photo
* Please, be aware that Multiple visa holders are limited to 90 days for each stay.
Tourist Visa Application Requirements
- passport valid for at least 3 months beyond the intended period of stay in Russia
- a copy of the main page of the passport
- visa support documents (standard tourist voucher and confirmation issued by a Russian travel agency OR a hotel for visa application); clear faxed or scanned copies are acceptable
- completed and signed by an applicant visa application form (can be downloaded from our website)
- 1 recent passport size photo
- confirmed air ticket itinerary
* Please, be aware that tourist visas can only be of a single or a double entry (within 1 month); are not time-flexible and are to be issued for exact period according to your visa support documents
Transit Visa Application Requirements
- passport valid for at least 3 months beyond the intended period of stay in Russia
- a copy of the main page of the passport
- completed and signed by an applicant visa application form (can be downloaded from our website)
- 1 recent passport size photo
- air or train ticket + copy (or confirmed itinerary)
- valid visa of the country of your next destination (only if required)
* Please, be aware that Transit visa: – can only be of a single or a double entry (within 1 month) – are not time flexible and to be issued for exact period according to your itinerary – maximum validity if you travel by plane – 3 days (72 hours), by train – 10 days – if you are traveling by plane and your transit time exceeds 24 hours, please, submit a confirmation of your hotel booking together with your visa application
Employment/Student Visa Application Requirements
- passport valid for at least 18 months beyond the intended period of stay in Russia
- a copy of the main page of the passport
- standard invitation letter issued by the Russian government (Ministry of Foreign Affairs OR Ministry of Interior); only originals are accepted
- completed and signed by an applicant visa application form (can be downloaded from our website)
- 1 recent passport size photo
- for employment visas – an introduction letter from the inviting company
- for employment and student visas – HIV test report
Homestay Visa Application Requirements
- passport valid for at least 6 months beyond the intended period of stay in Russia
- a copy of the main page of the passport
- standard invitation letter issued by the Russian Ministry of Interior; only originals are accepted
- completed and signed by an applicant visa application form (can be downloaded from our website)
- 1 recent passport size photo
*Within 3 days after your arrival in Russia, please, make sure that the receiving party will help you register your visa in the local police station
